Women's Tennis Topped by Plattsburgh

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss in its 2018 season opener against Plattsburgh University Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals begin the season at 2-0 with the Golden Eagles starting at 0-1.

SJC finished doubles play behind 2-1 with the only win coming from the #2 pair of Nora Burnett and Taylor Hanscom. The duo took down Sierra Barrett and Sarah Sampson by a score of 8-2.

Hanscom was also victorious in her #3 singles match with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-1 win over Sampson. St. Joseph's only other win of the match came from Mackenzie Martocci who topped Plattsburgh's Erin Wiggins 7-5, 6-4 in #6 singles.

The Golden Eagles return to action when they host Hunter College on Wednesday, September 5 at 5:30 pm.
