Women’s Tennis Stumbles at Oneonta

Oneonta, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 road defeat to SUNY Oneonta on Saturday afternoon. The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 2-2 on the year as the Red Dragons improve to 9-0.

In doubles play, SJC took 8-2 and 8-3 losses at first and third doubles, respectively, but the second doubles pairing of juniors Amanda Post and Nora Burnett fared best with an 8-6 loss.

Post lost out, 4-6, 1-6, at first singles but freshman Taylor Hanscom and Mackenzie Martocci were close to earning wins at third and sixth singles in 5-7, 4-6 losses.

The Golden Eagles return to action tomorrow, September 23 when they visit SUNY Delhi for a 11:00 am non-conference affair.
