Women’s Tennis Surges Past SUNY Delhi on Sunday
Delhi, NY| Following a 9-0 defeat at SUNY Oneonta on Saturday afternoon, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team got back to its winning ways on Sunday afternoon with a 9-0 victory at SUNY Delhi.
The win sends the Golden Eagles to 3-2 on the year as the Broncos slide to 1-6.
All three doubles pairings earned 8-1 victories and ensured SJC entered singles play up 3-0.
Junior Alana Caporale put St. Joseph's on the brink of victory when she swept her fifth-singles contest, 6-0, 6-0, and junior Mackenzie Martocci clinched the win for the guests in straight sets at sixth singles.
Freshman Taylor Hanscom also recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles, and junior Amanda Post was victorious, 6-0, 6-1 at first singles.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, September 26 when they visit Farmingdale State for a crucial Skyline Conference contest at 6:00 pm.
