Women’s Tennis Tops SJC-Brooklyn, 9-0, on Senior Day

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 win over Skyline Conference rival St. Joseph's College (Brkln) on Saturday afternoon.

The win sees the Golden Eagles improve to 4-2 overall on the year and 2-0 in conference play. The Bears slip to 2-6 (2-3 Skyline).

Senior Victoria Panicola and freshman Taylor Hanscom won 8-1 at first doubles and the second and third doubles pairings juniors Amanda Post and Nora Burnett, and Lindsey Charrier and Mackenzie Martocci won 8-0 in their respective matches.

In singles play, Post defeated Denise Trerotola 6-3, 6-4 at first singles, and SJC picked up 8-0 wins in all five of the other singles matches, including Panicola on her Senior Day.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Monday, October 8 when they visit Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State at 6:00 pm.
