Women’s Tennis Knocks Off Mt. St. Mary, 6-3

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team picked-up a 6-3 victory over Mount St. Mary College in a Skyline Conference contest at the Outdoor Field Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The win sees the Golden Eagles improve to 7-2 overall on the year a perfect 5-0 in conference play. The Knights fall to 5-7 (1-4 Skyline) with the loss.

The third doubles pairing of Mackenzie Martocci and Alana Caporale got the ball rolling for the hosts with an 8-0 win and set the tone for SJC to sweep all three of the doubles matches.

Taylor Hanscom's 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles put the Golden Eagles on the brink of victory, and Victoria Panicola's 6-3, 6-0 win at second singles clinched the win.

Nora Burnett would later go on to earn a 6-1, 6-2 victory at fourth singles.

The Golden Eagles wrap up their regular season with a crucial conference contest vs. SUNY Purchase on Monday, October 5. The winner of the match, which features the conference's final undefeated teams, will earn the top seed in the Skyline Conference championship.
