Track and Field Records Broken At Brick City Invitational

Newark, NJ| The St. Joseph's College track and field teams competed at the Brick City Track & Field Classic at the Newark School Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

 Junior Erin MacDonnell placed in first in the 1500 meter run with a 5:11.47 time. 

Madelyn Kowalevich had a program-best time in the 100 meter hurdle with a fourth-place 17.41 time, Mikaya Kowlevich fell just behind Madelyn with a fifth-place 17.50 time.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Briana Shand, Ashley Arquer, Jennifer Holownia, Madelyn Kowalevich broke the school record with a 51.46 time, to finish in third.
Gabriell Mason had her best showing in the pole vault with her record-breaking 3.04 second-place leap.

On the men's side, Ryan Haun would finish the 1500-meter in fifth place clocking in at 4:13.78.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Brian Frejka Mike O'Shea Daniel Antonawich Anthony Figorito sprinted to a sixth-place 45.52 time.

Alex Becker came in sixth in the shot put and the discus with an 11.43 meter and 35.28 toss, respectively. Becker also came close to the hammer throw record with his sixth-place 38.61 meter toss.

Nick Russo shattered the program record in the javelin with his 52.45 meter launch, which was good enough for third.

The Golden Eagles will now compete at the NJAC Championships, hosted by Rowan College, at the Richard Wackar Stadium in Glassboro, NJ
