New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's volleyball settled for a split in Skyline Conference action on Sunday afternoon after dropping a 3-1 decision to the College of Mount St. Vincent and sweeping Yeshiva University at Baruch College.

Following Sunday's action the Golden Eagles move to 3-8 (1-1 Skyline) on the season while the Dolphins improve to 5-7 (2-0 Skyline) and the Maccabees slide to 0-12 (0-6 Skyline).

After dropping a 25-12 decision in set one, the Golden Eagles rebounded in the second set and built a 17-14 lead. The Dolphins would take the next two points, but an 8-1 run by SJC—capped off by a Kiersten Kissinger kill—clinched the frame for the Golden Eagles (25-17) and knotted the match up at one.

Up 22-19 in the third set, SJC appeared poised to take a 2-1 lead in the match, but Mt. St. Vincent used a 6-0 run to earn a come-from-behind 25-22 victory. Set four was also tight, with the sides playing to a 24-24 tie, but again it was the Dolphins that rallied late to earn a 26-24 set win to take the match 3-1.

Kissinger's 16 kills were a team-best and a season-best for the senior, while fellow classmate Courtney Bocchieri went for a game-high 40 assists. Junior Claire Urizzo's 17 digs were also a game-best.

For the first time this season, the Golden Eagles held their opponent to less than 10 points in all three sets as they cruised to a three-game sweep of Yeshiva.

Set one (25-5) featured a 13-0 run to end the frame, while set two saw SJC storm to a 25-7 win. The Maccabees kept it tighter early in the third set, and even brought the scoreline back to within two points (8-6), but the Golden Eagles still won with ease by the score of 25-9.

Junior Morgan Tiska (12 kills) and freshman Jessica Nicholson (9 kills) both registered season-best kill tallies, with the former leading all players in the contest. Junior Jessica Monteserrato collected a career-best 30 assists.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, September 28 when they head to Queens, NY to take on York College in a non-conference affair. Follow along with live stats here.
