Women's Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Saturday

Dallas, PA| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team earned a split on the final day of the Misericordia Tournament Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles fell to the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford 3-0 before taking down the College of St. Elizabeth 3-0.

The Panthers got off to an early lead with a 25-19 win over SJC in set one before completing the sweep with 25-14 and 25-15 wins in sets two and three, respectively.

Freshman Amanda Goldstein recorded a team-high seven kills while having a hand in on three blocks. Sophomore setter Brionna Silva finished with 11 assists with senior libero Danielle Senecal recording 11 digs.

The Panthers were led by Riley Anderson and Elizabeth Johnson with nine kills apiece. Setter Payton Orzech dished 28 assists with Laura Hildebrand finishing with 18 digs.

The Golden Eagles made quick work of St. Elizabeth in the second match of the day with set wins of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-15.

Sophomore Danielle Silkin had a match-high seven kills while hitting at a .308 clip. Goldstein added six kills and was a force at the net with two blocks and five block assists. Toni Parente ran the offense with 17 assists with Senecal and senior Amanda Rose leading the defense with 11 kills apiece.

CSE was led by Yasmin'na Muhammad with six kills. Alizea Amaral finished with eight assists and Joralis Nivar recorded a match-high 24 digs.

The Golden Eagles are back in action when they travel to Kean University to face the Cougars and New England College on Saturday, September 15.
