Women's Volleyball Powers Past Farmingdale, 3-1

Farmingdale, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team handed Farmingdale State a 3-1 Skyline Conference loss Thursday night.

The Golden Eagles improve to 12-9 on the season and 3-1 in conference action. The Rams drop to 7-17 overall, 4-2 Skyline.

After SJC took a 2-0 match lead (25-18, 25-17), Farmingdale stayed alive with a 27-25 win in set three. The Golden Eagles opened the fourth set with five unanswered points en route to a 25-19 win to take the match 3-1.

Senior Kristen Bohnenblusch's led the Golden Eagles with 13 kills and completed the double-double with 16 digs. Sophomore Kaitlin Williams finished in double digits with 10 kills and junior Danielle Silkin pitched in with eight. Sophomore setter Brionna Silva dished 34 assists and senior libero Danielle Senecal scooped a match-high 26 digs.

Annie Cosgrove and Kelsey Volkis led the Rams with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Setter Angi Yarrow recorded 33 assists and Kellianne Dempsey finished with 21 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 13 when they travel to face Gwynedd Mercy and Rutgers-Camden. SJC will see the Griffins at 1:00 pm before taking on the Raptors at 3:00 pm.
