Women's Volleyball Picks Up Non-Conference Win Over Brooklyn College

Brooklyn, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 non-conference victory over Brooklyn College on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles improve to 16-10 on the season and the Bulldogs slip to 14-7.

St. Joseph's grabbed an early 2-0 match lead with 25-21 and 25-14 wins in sets one and two before a marathon 35-33 third set went in favor of the Bulldogs. The Golden Eagles regrouped and to clinch the match with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.

Sophomore Jessica Young led SJC with 15 kills while putting down seven total blocks. Senior Kristen Bohnenblusch earned a double-double of 10 kills and 20 digs with sophomore Kaitlin Williams and Danielle Silkin pitching in with nine kills apiece. Setters Brionna Silva and Toni Parente dished 27 and 17 assists, respectively. Libero Danielle Senecal recorded a match-high 27 digs with seven service aces.

Michaela Appel led all players with 23 kills and completed the double-double with 23 digs. Ezri Shor earned a triple-double of 10 kills, 17 assists, and 16 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to Skyline Conference action on Saturday, October 20 when they travel to face Yeshiva University and the College of Mt. St. Vincent. SJC will take on the Maccabees at 11:00 am before taking on the Dolphins at 1:00 pm.
