Women's Volleyball Falters in Skyline Finals

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team saw it's 2018 season come to an end on Saturday afternoon after a 3-0 loss to the College of Mt. St. Vincent in the final game Skyline Conference Championship.

The third-seeded Golden Eagles close out the season with a 21-12 overall record. The fourth-seeded Dolphins capture the Skyline title and advance to the NCAA Div. III Regional Tournament at 14-16 on the season.

In a match the never saw the Golden Eagles gain momentum, the visiting Dolphins earned 25-18, 25-21 and 25-19 wins in straight sets.

Sophomores Jessica Young and Kaitlin Williams led the Golden Eagles with eight kills apiece. The duo was a force at the net recording eight and five kills, respectively. Setter Brionna Silva dished 15 assists and libero Danielle Senecal scooped up a team-best 14 digs.

Tara Maloney and Samantha Schroder led CMSV with seven kills. Tournament Most Outstanding Player Madison Gale recorded 14 assists with six kills and six digs. Libero Alexandra Rio finished with a match-high 18 digs.

St. Joseph's 21 wins on the year matches a program-best set in the 2013 season.
