Women's Volleyball Eliminated in Five Set Thriller

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-2 loss to Farmingdale St. in the first round for the Skyline Conference Championships on Tuesday evening.

Farmingdale led the match with a 25-22 win in the opening set before the Golden Eagles bounced back to even the score with a 25-14 win in set two. The Rams regained the advantage with a 25-21 set three win, but couldn't close out the match as St. Joseph's took set four 25-13 before a 15-8 win for the Rams in the fifth set captured the win.

Melanie O'Hoppe led the Golden Eagles with 12 kills while picking up 14 digs. Middles Jessica Young and Amanda Goldstein pitched in with 10 kills apiece.

Setter Kaitlin Williams recorded a double-double of 37 assists and 13 digs assists on the night with libero Danielle Senecal finishing with a season-high 31 digs.

The Rams were led by Rachel McCartin with 11 kills and 14 digs. Setter Lexi Cavalieri tossed 25 assists with libero Madisyn Pozo picking up 20 digs.

The Golden Eagles finish at 14-15 on the season as the Rams improve to 16-13 and advance to the semifinals on Thursday, November 7 against Manhattanville College.
