Women's XC Favored to Take Home Fourth Consecutive Skyline Crown

NEW YORK, N.Y. – St. Joseph's-L.I. has been selected to take home the 2012 Skyline Women's Cross Country crown in voting conducted by the league's ten head coaches.   

Vying for their ninth title in program annals, the Golden Eagles earned eight first-place votes and 80 overall points, while 2011 runner-up Mount Saint Mary received a pair of first-place votes and 74 total points.  SJC will be anchored by senior Christine Cristobal, the 2011 Skyline individual champion, and junior Gillian Goodwin, who finished second overall in 2011 and was the 2010 Skyline champion.  

Maritime finished third in the voting with 60 points, followed by Purchase (58), Farmingdale State (51), Yeshiva (39), NYU-Poly (32), The Sage Colleges (22), Old Westbury (20) and Mount Saint Vincent (14). 

The 2012 Women's Cross Country Championship will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28, at Chadwick Lake Park in Newburgh, N.Y.
