XC's Zigrosser Wins Second Consecutive ECAC Runner of the Week Award

Danbury, Conn. - Cross Country's AnnMarie Zigrosser (Bayport, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) has been named the Corvias ECAC Division III Metro Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending 9/28/2014.  Zigrosser shared the award with teammate Lauren Waka the week of 9/21.  The senior finished the 5K Staten Island Invitational with a time 23:40.2 and earned a second place finish out of 162 runners.

Rookie of the Week:
Stephanie Hiester - Rowan University, Fr., Atco, N.J.

Hiester completed the 6K Williams Purple Valley Classic with a time of 23:40.2. She earned a 29th place finish out of 124 runners.

New England

Runner of the Week:
Sarah Quinn - MIT, Jr., Watchung, N.J.

Quinn earned a first place finish out of 267 runners, winning Williams' Purple Valley Classic. She covered the 6K course in 22:23.9, beating the rest of the field by six seconds.

Rookie of the Week:
Angel Waters - University of New England, Fr., Limerick, Maine

Waters competed at the Pop Crowell Invitational and completed the 5K course with a time of 19:56. Her individual second place finish helped lead the Nor'easters to a first place team finish.

South

Runner of the Week:
Bianca Bolton - Misericordia University, Jr., Pittston, Pa.

Bolton turned in a time of 22:16 at the Lock Haven Invitational. The junior finished second out of 172 runners, while running the third-fastest time in school history.

Rookie of the Week:
Melissa Froh - Marywood University, Fr., Ellicott City, Md.

Froh completed the Lock Haven Invitational 6K course with a time of 23:58. The rookie earned a 29th place finish in a field of 172 runners.

Upstate

Runner of the Week:
Cassie Goodman - State University of New York at Geneseo, Sr., Phelps, N.Y.

Goodman earned a first place finish at the NCAA Division III Pre-National meet, finishing with a time of 20:54.56. The senior crossed the 6K finish line almost 17 seconds ahead of the rest of the 321 woman field.

Rookie of the Week:
Eleanor Brooks - Bard College, Fr., Adams, N.Y.

Brooks claimed a 12th-place finish at the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcat Classic. She finished the 6K course with a time of 22:53.
