Zigrosser and Morfesi Earn Skyline Honors Following MSMC Invitational
Milton, N.Y. — AnnMarie Zigrosser (Bayport, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) was named Skyline Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for 10/5/14. Zigrosser placed first out of 178 runners on October 4 at the Mt. St. Mary College Invitational with a time of 20:26 on the 5K course. This is Zigrosser's third consecutive Skyline Runner of the Week citation.
Senior Lauren Waka (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./ Sachem North) earned a spot on the Women's Honor Roll after placing second overall out of 178 runners with a time of 20:53. The women's team captured the team title at the 23-team event.
Nick Morfesi (West Babylon, N.Y./ West Babylon) earned the Skyline Conference Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week honor after placing 10th overall out of 141 runners with a time of 29:40 at the invitational. This is Morfesi's third Skyline Rookie of the Week honor.
Brian Wersan (Holbrook, N.Y./ Sachem North) was named on the Men's Honor Roll after finishing third overall out of 141 runners with a time of 28:39. The men's team finished seventh at the invitational out of 20 teams.
Senior setter Julianne Tierney (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) of women's volleyball was named to the Skyline Volleyball Honor Roll after averaging 7.5 assists and 2.25 digs over four sets in a pair of Skyline victories for the Golden Eagles over Old Westbury and Farmingdale State.
