Danbury, CT| The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC) released its list of weekly award winners on Wednesday afternoon, and amongst the honored was senior Erin MacDonell of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's cross country team who was named Metro Region Runner of the Week.

For MacDonell, her second such accolade this season comes days after being named Skyline Conference Runner of the Week for the third time this year on Monday. The Sayville, NY native earned her third first-place finish of the 2017 campaign in as many races after posting a program-best 5k time of 18:10.8 at the Bard College Invitational on Saturday afternoon. A two-time Skyline Runner of the Week and the ECAC Runner of the Week on September 13, MacDonell powered the SJC women to a first-place finish in a field of 18 teams.

A three-time ECAC Rookie of the Week during the 2015 season, MacDonell powered the SJC women to a first-place finish in a field of 18 teams.

MacDonell and the cross country team return to action on Saturday, September 30 at the Mount St. Mary Invitational. The event, which begins at 11:00 am, takes place at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, NY--the site of the annual ECAC Cross Country Championships.
