Women’s Cross Country Wins Mt. St. Mary Invitational, Men Finish Ninth

Milton, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's cross country team earned its third first-place finish of the season and the men's cross country team took ninth place at the Mount St. Mary Invitational hosted at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome on Saturday afternoon.

In a meet that featured several Division II programs, senior Erin MacDonell earned a second-place finish in the women's 6k race with a time of 24:37.

Freshman Meagan Haviland placed 13th (25:53) and was the fourth-highest finisher among Skyline Conference competitors.

The men were paced by junior Ryan Haun, who finished ninth (28:09) in the 8k race. Senior James Dachille (28:49) checked in at 16th and sophomore Nick DeLuca finished 29th (29:37).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 7 when they participate in the annual Highlander XC Challenge at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ. Races begin at 11:00 am.
