Danbury, CT| The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC) announced its weekly cross country award winners on Wednesday afternoon, and amongst the honored was freshman Meagan Haviland of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's cross country team who was named Division III Metro Region Rookie of the Week.

A three-time winner this season, Haviland, who's swept Skyline Conference and ECAC Metro rookie honors two weeks in a row, turned in a 17th-place finish in a field of 141 Division II, Division III and junior college competitors at the Highlander XC Challenge on Saturday afternoon. With a 5k time of 20:02.44, the Sound Beach, NY native was the highest-placing freshman finisher and helped lead the Golden Eagles to a fourth-place finish.

Haviland, who was named Skyline Conference Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season on Monday, returns to action with the cross country team on Saturday, October 14 at the 18th Annual St. Joseph's College Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park.
