Haun and MacDonell Win ECAC Individual Championships

Milton, NY| Senior Erin MacDonell and junior Ryan Haun both won individual championships in their respective races at the ECAC Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon at Hudson Valley Sports Dome.

MacDonell powered a women's team that earned a second-place finish in a field of 12 competing schools. Haun and the men finished in fifth place.

MacDonell, who finished second at the championships last season, posted a time of 24:46.6 and finished 36.1 seconds ahead of Skyline Conference individual champion Erin Lettieri of Farmingdale.

Skyline Rookie of the Year Meagan Haviland finished 11th with a time of 26:22.1 and senior Amanda Sprague finished 13th (26:52.6).

Haun's 8k time of 27:08.3 was 9.6 seconds better than the competition's second-place finisher, Jacob Hanss of Alfred State.

Senior James Dachille (28:06.5) and sophomore Nick DeLuca (28:59.5) rounded out the SJC men's top-three with 10th and 24th-place finishes.

The Golden Eagles wrap up their 2017 season on Saturday, November 11 when they participate in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships at Houghton College (Houghton, NY).
