Patchogue, NY|  On Sunday, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) baseball team honored its seniors as the Golden Eagles (21-10, 13-3 Skyline) split a Skyline Conference doubleheader against rival Farmingdale St. (18-13, 10-4), dropping the opener, 8-2, before taking the nightcap, 7-2 at Gregg Alfano Field.

Game 1
FSC 8, SJC 2
In a game that featured a pitcher's duel which saw the two teams combine a total of three hits in the first five innings, the Golden Eagles tallied the game's first two runs in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs in the frame, Matt Burnett and Paul Britt worked back-to-back walks before Lou Doria split the outfielders with a two-run double.

After a smooth two innings, the Rams caused some trouble for SJC when they put runners on first and second after an error and single up the middle. Domenic Palumbo singled up the middle to cut FSC's deficit to one. Nick Attardi tied the game when he lined a ball at the ankles of starting pitcher Brandon Lubrano that landed in the outfield. After that the Rams went on a tear scoring six runs on two hits to take game one of the doubleheader 8-2.

Lubrano had another stellar start, aside from receiving the loss, the southpaw struk out four batters let up two earned runs.

Game 2
FSC 2, SJC 7

After a scoreless first inning, SJC got on the board in the bottom of the second when Crafa got up to bat with the bases loaded, and hit a ground ball to second base to tally the game's first run. Bonilla doubled the Golden Eagles' lead, 2-0, after a sac fly to left field to plate Raucci.

In the bottom of the fourth with one out, the Golden Eagles loaded the bases after three-consecutive hits before Bonilla sent a ball to the centerfield wall for a three-run triple.  Burnett, who was the next batter, hit a ball past the diving third baseman to give SJC a 6-0 advantage.

SJC pushed another run across the board in the bottom of the sixth when Dylan Piscitelli hit a two-out single to plate Britt for the 7-0 lead.
After an error that put a runner at first, Josh Outsen found himself in a one-out jam with runners on second and third. He would register the second out, but conceded a run after a sac fly to left field. The Rams pushed across a second run but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles walked away with a 7-2 win.

Outsen tossed a complete game and fanned four batters and allowed six hits. Burnett and Britt both went 3-for-4, while Burnett drove a run in.

The Golden Eagles are slated the play NJCU in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00 PM. Live stats will be available here.
