Baseball Edged by William Paterson, 7-6

Wayne, NJ| The St. Joseph's College baseball team dropped a 7-6 non-conference decision on the road to William Paterson University on Tuesday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles move to 1-2 on the season as the Pioneers improve to 7-1.

St. Joseph's entered the seventh trailing 4-2, but a four-run inning highlighted by a two-run RBI double from Jesse Nakashian put the Golden Eagles ahead 6-4.

The Pioneers knocked in a pair of runs in the bottom half of the seventh knotting the score up at six.

Following a scoreless eighth William Paterson managed to push across a run courtesy of an RBI single from Matt Ferrara for the win in walk-off fashion.

SJC's Tyler Sanderson and Chris Amato finished with two hits apiece combining for two RBI and two runs scored.

Four Golden Eagles took the mound with Daniel Deckert earning the start allowing four runs on seven hits in four innings. Anthony Cinquemani was tagged with the loss allowing one run on three hits in 2.1 innings of relief.

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, St. Joseph's baseball has canceled its spring trip to Arizona. 

The Golden Eagles are scheduled to host the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday, March 21 at 12:00 pm.
