Golf Places Eighth at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational

Ballston Spa, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) golf team shot its way to an eighth-place finish at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational, hosted by Skidmore College at the Ballston Spa Country Club.

The Golden Eagles posted their best two day tournament score (610) in program history, tallying a 306 in the opening round and a 304 on the final 18 holes.

Zac Campanelli led the way finishing in the top 10 amongst individuals with a 71 and 77 score in the first two rounds.

John Melandro earned a 77 (+6)  and a 74 (+3) and finished tied for 19th.

Christian Bleck shot an 80 in the first round and shot one stroke above par (72) in the second round for a 152 mark.

Robbie Bray ended with a 78 and an 81 for a 159 mark, and Vincent Garofalo scored an 83 and 87 for a 170 tally.

"Each of the competing team members played exceptionally well and continued to improve in each tournament in preparation for the NCAA tournament," said a proud George Cangero.

The team next competes in the Suffolk CCC Spring Tournament Monday, April 18 at the St George's CC in Stony Brook, NY.
