Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's soccer team was defeated, 3-0, by Farmingdale State in a Skyline Conference contest at Danzi Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 2-8-0 on the year and 2-4-0 in Skyline play as the Rams improve to 6-6-0 (3-1-0).
Junior keeper Tyler Flaherty recorded nine saves on 12 shots in a losing effort. Senior Damian Duda led the Golden Eagles with five shots in the contest.
Farmingdale carried a two-goal lead into halftime thanks to 14th- and 42nd-minute goals courtesy of Daniel Mehyari and Alec Chapoteau, respectively.
Bryan Cruz wrapped the afternoon's scoring in the 71st minute with an unassisted tally to secure a 3-0 win for the guests.
SJC was outshot 19-12 in total and won two corner kicks to Famringdale's four.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, October 9 when they visit Stockton for a non-conference contest at 7:30 pm.
