Golden Eagles Finish Three Game Stretch With Split Results

Patchogue, N.Y. – The Golden Eagles walk away of a three game stretch with two losses and a solid win. The team will compete one last time against Staten Island, with a time and date to be determined.

On Thursday, April 16, SJC fell to Yeshiva by a devastating gap of 9-0. This match marked the teams last home Skyline Conference competition of the season.  The closest match was that of senior Alexander Fisher, who split the gap of his second match by just three points.  Although the team was unable to succeed, they were able to place a few points on the board here and there and loosen up for the rest of the weekend.

Friday's match against Farmingdale proved to be equally as disappointing, with another 9-0 loss.  Doubles partners Fisher and Matt Dioguardo competed the strongest, with a close final score of 8-9. Unfortunately, the team fell short again, but prepared for their final match of the weekend against Sarah Lawrence.

Saturday became a turnaround day for the Golden Eagles – the team defeated Sarah Lawrence by a final score of 7-2 in an important Skyline Conference match.  The team won all three of its doubles matches and four out of its six singles matches.  Outstanding play came from Stephen Fox, who shutout his opponent in his second match. Thomas O'Keefe's singles match was taken to three rounds, where he fell just short of his opponent.

The Golden Eagles return home for a postponed match against Staten Island – date and time is to be determined.
