Men’s Tennis Falls to MSMC on Monday

Newburgh, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Mount St. Mary College in a Skyline Conference showdown on the road on Monday evening and fell to 1-7 (1-4 Skyline) on the season. The Knights improve to 7-3 and sit in second place in the conference standings with a 4-1 mark.

Peter Rasmussen and Chris Corrao suffered an 8-1 first doubles defeat while Philip Branigan and Matt Dioguardo (2nd doubles) and Brian Merle and Wilfido Vasquez (3rd doubles) were both handed 8-2 losses.

In the singles competition, Corrao (1-2, 2-6) and Rasmussen (0-6, 2-6) took defeats in first and second singles, but Dioguardio at third singles pushed a tiebreaker in the first set eventually falling 7-6, 6-1. Branigan (fifth singles) fared best with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-10 loss.
