Men’s Tennis Topped by Mount St. Mary

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Mount St. Mary College in a Skyline Conference contest at the SJC Outdoor Field Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 2-4 overall on the year and 0-3 in Skyline play as the Knights improve to 5-2 (1-2 Skyline).

SJC dropped the first and second doubles matches but got on the board with a third doubles victory when Dylan Trude and Kenneth Pettersen posted an 8-5 decision.

Two of the singles matches went to tiebreakers but the Knights prevailed on both occasions. SJC posted its only singles win via Damian Duda, who won 6-1, 6-1 at sixth singles.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, April 10 when they visit SUNY Purchase for a Skyline Conference contest at 3:30 pm.
