Golden Eagles Break Records at SJC Third Annual Invitational

South Huntington, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's and women's indoor track and field team hosted the third annual St. Joseph's College Winter Invitational at St. Anthony's HS on Saturday morning

Madelyn Kowalevich bested her sister's (Mikayla Kowalevich) record in the 60-meter high hurdles (10.40) crossing the line with a 10.33 time..

Jessica Pierno also broke a record in the shot put with a 10.17 meter toss.

Ashley Arquer, Briana Shand, Jennifer Holownia, and Pierno earned a sixth-place 1:52.46 finish in the 4x200-meter relay. 

The 4x800-meter relay team consisting of Amanda Spraque, Kelly Roberts, Pierno, and Nunez ran a sixth-place time of 10:58.71.

On the men's side, Alex Beck broke the school record in the shot put tossing the weight to a distance of 11.58 meters. 

Ryan Haun finished the 3000-meter in seventh place with a 9:20.47.

Earning an eighth-place finish is the 4x800-meter relay team of Tim Monahan, Haun, Tim Elgort, and Nick Russo with an 8:43.41 time.

The Golden Eagles return to action when they host the NJAC Championships on Monday, Feb. 20. The event will take place at Ocean Breeze Park Track and Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island at 5 PM.
