Zigrosser & Mayen Lead Golden Eagles Track at Ramapo Invite

Mahwah, N.J. – The Golden Eagles kicked off their spring season with momentum as both the men and women finished off their weekend with some positive results at the Ramapo Invitational that took place over two days.

Outstanding results were marked across the board with new records and personal accomplishments. AnnMarie Zigrosser (Bayport, N.Y./ St. John the Baptist) completely shattered the previous SJC record for the 10,000 meter run from 2008 by nearly five minutes. Zigrosser lapped the entire women's field for the win – finishing with a time of 40:34:65, which was nearly two minutes faster than the runner up. She is now ranked No. I within the NJAC in the 10,000.

Other notable results came from Mario Mayen (Center Moriches, N.Y./ Center Moriches), who qualified for the ECACs in the 400m with a time of 49.10, which missed his career best and the school record by just two hundredths of a second. He's currently ranked fourth on the ECAC list and first on the NJAC list.

Overall, the women came in 18th place out of 26 and the men 17th out of 28, but had notable progression and accomplishments to be proud of.

The Golden Eagles race again this Sunday in Kings Point, N.Y. at the USMMA Six-Way Meet at 10:00 a.m.
