Track and Field Competes at Osprey Open Over the Weekend

Galloway, NJ| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's and women's track and field traveled to Stockton University this past weekend for the Osprey Open which was held on Friday and Saturday.

Ashley Arquer placed second after her 12.75 finish in the 100-meter dash, and Briana Shand came in fifth running the dash in 13.06.

Madelyn Kowalevich came in third place in the 100-meter high hurdles with a 16.99, while Mikayla Kowalevich came in fourth place with a 17.21 time.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Shand, Arquer, Jennifer Holownia, and Madelyn Kowalevich claimed a program-best of 51.60, which was good enough for a fourth place finish.

Jessica Pierno broke the school record in shot put and the javelin with a 10.27 and 26.38 meter toss, respectively.

For the men, Brandon Linbrunner broke the school record for the 100-meter dash with a 11.24 finish.

In the final event of the meet, the 4x400 meter team of Daniel Antonawhich, Tim Elgort, Linbrunner and Anthony Figorito placed in fourth with a 3:35 time.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Kings Point, NY for the Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by the US Merchant Marine Academy on Sunday, April 23 at 10:00 AM.
