Men's Volleyball Earns Skyline Sweeps over Yeshiva and Purchase

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College men's volleyball team earned a pair of Skyline Conference wins with sweeps over Yeshiva University and SUNY Purchase on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles improve to 18-5 on the season with a perfect 5-0 Skyline Conference mark.

St. Joseph's opened the day with a 25-11 win in set one before completing the sweep over the Maccabees (6-8, 3-3 Skyline) with 25-14, 25-18 victories in sets two and three, respectively.

Junior Kyle Biggers led the SJC attack with nine kills while hitting at a .583 clip. Junior David Slager and freshman Sean Williams provided seven kills apiece.

Setters Tyler Jones and Michael Lane dished 11 assists each with Jason Siriban providing 10.

Freshman Thomas Renick led the SJC defense with five digs with Williams pitching in with four.

After storming to a 25-2 win in set one, the Golden Eagles earned 25-10 and 25-18 victories in sets two and three to pick up the sweep over SUNY Purchase (7-15, 2-3 Skyline).

Slager put down a game-high eight kills with Matthew Amberge adding six.

Jones tossed nine assists and served three aces while Lane and Siriban recorded seven assists apiece.

Sophomore Jack Solen collected a match-best 12 digs as Renick finished with four.

The Golden Eagles travel to take on SUNY New Paltz in a non-conference match up on Tuesday, April 2. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
