Men’s Cross Country Wins LIU Post Invitational, Women Place Third

Brookville, NY| Sophomore Ryan Haun placed fourth and junior Erin MacDonell third as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's and women's cross country teams earned first and third place finishes,respectively, at the LIU Post Invitational on Saturday morning.

Haun's 26:50 time in the men's 8k race paced a men's side that has placed first at consecutive meets. Freshman Tim Monahan finished sixth (27:04) and junior James Dachille (27:57) placed 13th. Senior Nick Diaz (28:14) and freshman Nick DeLuca (28:55) rounded out SJC's top five with 16th and 22nd place finishes.

In the women's 5k race, MacDonell set a new career-best time (19:24) and finished three spots ahead of senior Kelly Roberts (6th, 20:10). Sophomores Taylor Darby (21:32) and Abigail Lehr (21:51) finished in 18th and 22nd, and junior Amanda Sprague (22:30) finished in 26th.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 8 when they participate in the Highlander XC Challenge at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ. Full meet recap here at sjcgoldeneagles.com following the action.
