Cross Country Wraps Season at NCAA Atlantic Regional

Glassboro, NJ| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's and women's cross country teams completed their 2016 season on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Atlantic Regional at Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, NY. The men earned a 28th-place finish out of 44 competing teams and the women finished 32nd in a field of 43.

All five of the women's team's scoring runners set new personal best 6k times in the race with junior Erin MacDonell (23:55.0) leading the pack in 148th. Senior Kelly Roberts posted a time of 24:16.0 and placed 167th, and sophomores Taylor Darby (25:49.6) and Abigail Lehr (26:07.0) and junior Amanda Sprague (26:09.5) finished 227th, 232nd and 233rd, respectively.

On the men's side, sophomore Ryan Haun became the highest-placing SJC finisher at an NCAA Regional in 87th place after posting a career-best 8k time of 26:10.1. Freshman Tim Monahan (27:11.9), junior James Dachille (27:30.2) and freshman Nick De Luca (29:00.1) took 156th, 178th and 230th, respectively. Senior Tim Elgort checked in a 238th and established a new career-best of 29:12.4.

The women's team placed third at this year's Skyline Conference Championships and the men earned runner-up accolades. In total, the women collected two All-Conference and two All-ECAC selections this season, and the men earned four All-Conference and three All-ECAC nods.
