#4 Softball to Host #5 Farmingdale in Skyline 1st Rd. on Wednesday

Patchogue, NY| The fourth seeded St. Joseph's College (L.I.) softball team will play host to fifth seeded Farmingdale State College (14-16, 12-6) in the first round of the Skyline Conference Tournament on Wednesday afternoon for the right to play in the double-elimination final round at Mount St. Mary College this coming weekend.

The Golden Eagles (21-13, 13-5) enter the tournament on a seven-game conference winning streak that was capped off by a sweep of SUNY Purchase on Monday afternoon to earn them the #4 seed.

The sides split their two-game series back on Saturday, April 16 when the Rams took game one by the score of 5-0 before Lindsey Corriss' three-RBI triple in the sixth inning fired the Golden Eagles to a 7-4 victory in game two.

SJC's Mallory McClafferty and FSC's Meagan Anderson, two of the conference's most prolific hitters, will play pivotal roles on Wednesday's contest. McClafferty (.464, 46 RBI's, 7 HR's) is expected to get the start on the mound after going 10-4 during the regular season with 93 strikeouts and a 2.41 ERA.

Anderson (.481, 24 RBI's, 5 HR's) is expected to catch for the Rams.
