Track and Field Competes at Wagner Invitational

Staten Island, NY| The St. Joseph's College men's and women's track and field teams participated at Wagner College's annual invitational at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY on Friday.

Faring best on the men's side was junior Jeremy Anderson, who finished fifth out of 17 competitors in the men's 500-meter run with a time of 1:10.26.

Freshman Matt Lopez's 4:38.60 time in the mile run was good enough for eighth in a field of 25 and the 4x400 relay team of Jayvid Parra, Patrick Wuss, Anderson and Lopez took 11th crossing the line with a time of 3:50.71.

Junior Meagan Haviland powered the women with a fifth-place finish out of 13 in her 3000-meter race with a time of 11:13.88.

Sophomore Savannah McMaster took 11th in the 60-meter run with a time of 8.61 with junior Caroline ZacZek finishing just behind her in 15th with a time of 8.91.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, January 11 when they participate in the TCNJ Lion Indoor Invitational at the NYC Armory.
