Patchogue, NY| Shooting troubles plagued the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team as it suffered a 93-63 defeat to City College of New York inside the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 1-1 on the season while the Beavers open up their season 1-0.

City College continued its torrid pace early in the third quarter as it extended its lead to 17 points (58-41) at the 6:39 mark. A pair of Wallace free-throws would spark a 17-4 run for the Beavers taking a 30-point lead (75-45) at the end of the third frame.

The Golden Eagles did their best to keep the score close, recording the frame's first seven points to cut their deficit to 23 (75-52). However, the Beavers would re-extendt their lead to 31 points (87-56) with 3:26 remaining in the game.  After trading points in the final minutes of the game, City College pulled away and cruised to a 30-point (93-63) victory.
