Women's Basketball Downed by Manhattanville

Harrison, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's basketball team dropped a Skyline Conference contest to Manhattanville College 90-42 on the road on Tuesday night.

The loss puts the Golden Eagles at 4-13 on the season with a 2-10 Skyline record. The Valiants improve to 15-2 overall, 11-2 Skyline.

Freshman Catherine Siounis paced the Golden Eagles with and a double-double of 11 rebounds and 13 points going 7-for-8 from the free-throw line.

Sophomore Megan Steinman dropped in 10 points with freshman Alyssa Adomaites rounding out the top scorers with nine points.

Manhattanville's Spencer Shore led all players with 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field, 5-for-6 from three-point range. Faith Johnson-Desilvia finished with 14 points and Amanda Pemberton came away with a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards.

The Valiants led wire-to-wire holding the Golden Eagles to single digits in the second and third quarters. The host's used 48.1% shooting from the field in the third frame to build its largest lead of the night 77-22. A 14-13 fourth quarter went in favor of the Golden Eagles, but the deficit was too great to overcome and the game ending at 90-42.

Manhattanville shot 47.5% from the field while St. Joseph's was held to just 23.6%.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, January 30 when they travel to face Sarah Lawrence College at 8:00 PM.
