Knice Scores 24 in Win over Sarah Lawrence

Bronxville, NY| Freshman Julianna Knice dropped in a career-best 24 points in St. Joseph's College's 63-55 Skyline Conference win over Sarah Lawrence College on Thursday night.

The win moves the Golden Eagles to 5-13 on the season with a 3-10 conference mark. The Gryphons drop to 0-19 overall, 0-14 Skyline.

Knice shot 6-for-12 from three-point range and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line while completing the double-double with 11 rebounds.

Sophomores Megan Steinman and Alyssa Signor added nine points apiece with the latter grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds.

Camryn Davis led the Gryphons with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ana Srdanovic added 12 points with Jordyn Medina finishing with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.

In a game that saw five lead changes, the Gryphons built its largest lead, 22-15, in the opening minutes of the second frame. A pair of Signor free throws sparked a 10-0 SJC run put the Golden Eagles ahead 25-22 and they would head into the break leading 36-28.

The hosts went on to outscore the Golden Eagles 16-13 in the third quarter, but the St. Joseph's held off the Gryphons for the eight-point win.

Despite being outshot 32.8%-26.9% from the field, the Golden Eagles held a 29.4%-25.0% advantage from beyond the arc.

St. Joseph's returns to the Danzi Center on Saturday, February 1 when they host Mt. St. Mary College at 1:00 pm.
