Patchogue, NY| After posting an 8-9 overall record and earning a spot in the Skyline Conference Championship last season as the #3 seed, the St. Joseph's College women's lacrosse team looks to make its way back to the postseason in 2019.

Finishing 5-2 in conference play in 2018, the Golden Eagles took down second-seeded Farmingdale St., 12-9, in the Skyline semifinal round.  SJC faced the top-seeded U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in the championship game, ultimately falling to the Mariners 13-10.

The Returners: St. Joseph's returns eight Golden Eagles to the 2019 squad including three Skyline All-Conference selections.

Senior Nicole Stoppelli returns for her final season after a record-breaking 2018. The Skyline All-Conference first team selection captured the SJC single-season points record (82) last year and sits just four shy of the all-time assists record.

Joining Stoppelli in the midfield will be Diana Johnston who returns after her 2018 season was cut short due to injury. In just seven games last year, Johnston recorded 27 points on 24 goals and three assists and finished third on the team with 48 draw controls.

Junior Lauryn Gregson will be leading the attack following an All-Conference season of 54 points on 36 goals and 18 assists. Sophomore Taylor Ferrito will join Gregson up top after scoring five goals and two assists a year ago.

The defense will be led by a veteran group of senior Samantha Caruso, junior Karissa Rutigliano and sophomore Alexandra Ehrhart with All-Conference selection senior Lindsay Ramos guarding the net. Ramos logged in 1020 minutes between the pipes last season with 123 saves and a 10.76 GAA.

The Newcomers: Head Coach Kristen Znaniecki begins her second year as head coach adding seven new Golden Eagles to the 2019 squad.

Transfers Tori Staker and Ashley Fisch enter their first year at SJC looking to make an immediate impact in the midfield. Adding depth to the attack are freshmen Breanna Daly and Jamie Benavides and rounding out the defense are freshman Jessica Dillingham and seniors Kristin Winter and Emily Fontinha.

St. Joseph's sits third in the Skyline Conference Preseason Coaches Poll behind last year's champion USMMA and Farmingdale State.
