Gagliardi Named ECAC Metro Rookie of the Week

Danbury, Conn.| Christina Gagliardi of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team was selected as ECAC Division III Metro Region Rookie of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, as per the conference's website.

Gagliardi potted a pair of goals last week as the SJC women's soccer team posted a 1-0-1 record. The forward tallied the game winner in a 2-0 win over Old Westbury on Wednesday before scoring the tying goal in a 1-1 draw with Purchase on Saturday afternoon. The Ronkonkoma, NY native, now with five goals on the season, leads the team in scoring and is tied for seventh in the conference.

Gagliardi, who was selected as Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, is a regional award winner for the first time in her career.
