Women's Tennis Falls to Farmingdale, 6-3

Farmingdale, NY| In a rematch of the 2015 Skyline Championship, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Farmingdale State College on Wednesday afternoon on the road. The Golden Eagles are now 4-2 (2-1 Skyline) on the year as the Rams improve to 6-3 (2-1 Skyline).

The tandem of Nora Burnett and Erika Hesselbirg picked up the first point for the Golden Eagles at the #3 doubles spot, while Kerri McMahon and Emily Portal dropped their first match of the season, 4-8, at #2 doubles court. Post and Victoria Panicola were outlasted, 6-8, at #1 doubles as Farmingdale increased its lead to 2-1 heading into singles action.

Burnett dropped her match against Kayla Reidy 6-0, 6-1 and Amanda Post fell to Priscilla Signor at the number one court to Priscilla Signore.

McMahon won her sixth-consecutive singles match in as many games, taking down Qurat-ul-ain Rain 6-2, 6-3 at #3 singles. Portal brought SJC within one (4-3) winning her #6 match 6-4, 6-2 over Celine Zollinger, but Farmingdale secured the win when Tatiana Rosamilia earned a 6-1, 6-3 win over Panicola.
