Track and Field Breaks Four Records at the Osprey Open

Galloway, NJ| The St. Joseph's College men's and women's track and field team traveled to New Jersey this past weekend to compete in the Osprey Open at the G. Larry James Stadium at Stockton University.

Ashley Arquer earned third place nods in the 100 meter dash with a 13.33 finish.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Amanda Sprague, Arquer, Jennifer Holownia, and Jessica Pierno broke their own record with a second-place 52.90 time.

A second record was broken in the 4x800 relay, as Brittany Guttieri, Taylor Darby, Kelly Roberts, and Samantha Maurice crossed the line with a 10:15.71 time which was good enough for third place.

Mary Scott broke the school's high jump record with a fifth-place 1.39 meter jump.

Pierno placed third in the long jump with a third-place 4.81 meter jump, Arquer would finish in sixth with a 4.61 meter finish.  Pierno also recoreded a personal-best, a program record, in the javelin with a 23.71 meter toss. 

On the men's side, Brian Frejka, Mike O'Shea, Daniel Antonawich, and Nick Russo earned a second place time of 46.14 in the 40-meter relay.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Kings Point, NY for the Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by the US Merchant Marine Academy on Sunday, April 17 at 10:00 AM.
