Women's Volleyball Earns a Pair of Non-Conference Win

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team picked up a pair of non-conference wins over Lehman College and Albertus Magnus College in the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

SJC 3, Lehman 0

The Golden Eagles (7-9) made quick work of the Lightning (2-16) with 25-15, 25-19, and 25-12 win in straight sets to pick up the non-conference sweep.

Junior Kaitlin Williams led the Golden Eagle attack with eight kills while hitting at a .400 clip. Middles Amanda Goldstein and Jessica Young pitched in with seven and six kills, respectively.

Junior setter dished a match-high 29 assists while senior libero Danielle Senecal led all players with 14 digs.

Franchesca Acevedo led the Lightning with eight kills while putting up four blocks. Andrea Alarcon and Ariana Pradieu added three kills apiece. Setter Heder Rodriguez recorded 13 assists and finished with six digs.

SJC 3, Albertus Magnus3

The Golden Eagles completed their second sweep of the afternoon with 25-18, 25-14, 25-13 wins over the Falcons (7-11).

Goldstein led the Golden Eagles with 14 kills and a .765 hitting percentage.  Young and Williams added seven kills apiece.

Silva finished with a double-double of 26 assists and 11 digs. Senecal recorded a match-high 17 digs with freshman Veronica Miessmer adding eight.

Irene Ronan led the Falcons with five kills. Setter Jaiden Williams tossed 11 assists with libero Jesselle Guzman finishing with a team-high 11 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Monday, October 7 when they host Brooklyn College at 7:00 pm.
