Women's Volleyball downed by USMMA, 3-0

Kings Point. NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Tuesday evening.

The Golden Eagles fall to 9-10 on the season with a 4-1 Skyline record. The Mariners improve to 14-6 overall, 7-1 Skyline.

USMMA earned 25-19, 25-12 and 25-10 wins to take the match in straight sets.

Sophomore Amanda Goldstein led SJC with five kills. Junior Kaitlin Williams added three kills with two service aces and 11 digs.

Junior setter Brionna Silva dished 14 assists while libero Danielle Senecal picked up a match-high 14 digs.

The Mariners were led by Paige Smith who finished with a double-double of 12 kills and 11 digs. Taylor Gilberston also recorded a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs. Setter Kyleigh Kappas tossed 27 assists with Nicole Ibinson finishing with 13 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center on Saturday, October 19 when they host Mt. St. Mary College at 12:00 pm.
