Women's Volleyball Rallies for 3-2 Win Over Farmingdale St.

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team rallied back from an 0-2 deficit to come away with a 3-2 victory on the road against Farmingdale State on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Eagles move to an even 11-11 on the season with a 5-2 Skyline record. The Rams slide to 13-13 overall, 5-4 Skyline.

After taking sets one and two by scores 25-20 and 25-22, Farmingdale was on the verge of victory in the third set, 24-23, but back-to-back kills from Amanda Goldstein and Lauren Harmer kept SJC with a 26-24 win. The Golden Eagles took that momentum into the fourth set cruising to a 25-18 win and pushing the match to a decisive fifth set where St. Joseph's finished on top 15-12 to secure the match win.

Goldstein led SJC with 12 kills while serving four aces. Kaitlin Williams finished in double figures with 11 kills while providing six digs and three block assists. Jessica Young pitched in with eight kills and had a hand in six blocks.

Setter Brionna Silva dished 35 assists and scooped 18 digs. Libero Danielle Senecal led all players with 24 digs.

The Rams were led by Kate Flamio ad Kelsey Volkis with 19 and 11 kills, respectively. Setter Lexi Cavalleri recorded 40 assists with Madisyn Pozo finishing with 20 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center for the final time in the 2019 regular-season on Thursday, October 24 when they host John Jay College. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
