Women's Volleyball Sweeps John Jay on Senior Night

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's volleyball team earned a non-conference sweep over John Jay College in the final regular-season match at the Danzi Center on Thursday night.

The Golden Eagles improve to 12-11 on the season as the Bloodhounds fall to 5-14. 

St. Joseph's cruised to an early match lead with 25-15 and 25-14 wins in sets one and two. The Bloodhounds put up a fight in the third set, but SJC held on for the 25-23 win.

Sophomore Amanda Goldstein led the Golden Eagles with nine kills and a .583 hitting percentage. Freshman Lauren Harmer also finished with nine kills while hitting at a .500 clip.

Junior setter Brionna Silva dished 33 assists and senior libero recorded a team-best 11 digs and five service aces.

Niovis Monsanto led John Jay with seven kills and scooped nine digs. Setter Kimberly Rodriguez finished with 15 assists and libero Stephany Chhay led all players with 13 digs.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Sunday, October 27 when they travel to take on Yeshiva University and Baruch College. Game times are slated for 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
