MacDonell and Haun Finish 2nd at Friends and Alumni Race

Sayville, NY| Sophomore Ryan Haun and junior Erin MacDonell both earned second-place finishes at the 2nd Annual Friends and Alumni Race hosted by the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) cross country teams at Broadway Ave Park in Sayville, NY on Thursday night. Both the men's and women's teams also finished in second place in their respective team standings..

MacDonell, who posted a 4k time of 16:04.10, led the SJC women's team that placed three runners in the top-15. Seniors Kelly Roberts (16:34.50) and Cassie Costarelli (17:50.50) earned third and 13th place finishes, respectively.

Sophomore Abigail Lehr (16th, 18:11.40) and senior Jessica Pierno (17th, 18:20.30) rounded out the women's team's top-five.

Haun (20:37.7) finished 5.8 seconds behind first-place finisher Brian Michels of Molloy in the men's 6k. Junior James Dachille turned in a fifth-place finish (21:03.1) in his SJC debut, and freshman Tim Monahan finished in ninth place (21:29.6).

Senior Nick DIaz (22:32.0) and Nick DeLuca (22.44.4) finished in 19th and 21st place, respectively.

Also faring well were SJC alumni Mike Lombardi (20:39.4) and Ally Waka (16:37.9), who placed third and fourth in their races.
