Cross Country Turns in Strong Showing at Fordham Fiasco

Bronx, NY| Both the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's and men's cross country teams competed at the Fordham Fiasco held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon and earned fifth-place finishes among Division II, III and NJCAA participants.

Junior Erin MacDonell, who finished second among D-III competitors, led the women's side with a 11th-place 5k finish (22:06.67) which was good for 11th place. Senior Kelly Roberts turned in a 22nd-place finish, with a time of 22:53.33, while sophomores Taylor Darby (24:24.95) and Abigail Lehr (24:44.15) placed in 38th and 39th, respectively.

The SJC men were paced by junior James Dachille who took 18th (28:07.11) in the men's five-mile run and was the top D-III finisher. Sophomore Ryan Haun was close behind in 21st (28:18.04), while Tim Monahan (30:05.57) and Nick DeLuca (30:33.48) rounded out the SJC top-four in 39th and 50th.
