Men's Volleyball Earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

AVCA Release

Lexington, KY| The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's volleyball team earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award presented by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on July 18.

The award is given to collegiate volleyball programs that posted a GPA over 3.30 during an academic year. The award was first handed out for the 1992-93 academic year.

"Academic achievement does not happen by accident," said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. "I'm so proud of the hundreds of coaching staffs that make excellence in the classroom a priority."

St. Joseph's was one of 16 NCAA Division III men's programs honored and one of two in the Skyline Conference to receive the accolade. In total, 31 men's programs were honored across all NCAA divisions.

The Golden Eagles posted a 26-4 overall record finishing the 2022 season as Skyline Conference Champions and made program history when they advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals.
