Sean McCarthy – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Junior, Guard, Kings Park, NY/Kings Park HS
McCarthy averaged 17.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 12-for-23 from three-point range as the Golden Eagles clinched the No. 6 seed in this week's Skyline Championship with wins over Yeshiva (67-57), Farmingdale State (69-65) and Purchase (65-61)…scored a game-high 22 points and nailed six three-pointers versus FSC on Feb. 19…had 13 points, eight rebounds and a pair of steals against Purchase on Feb. 22…shot 15-of-31 from the field on the week and committed just four turnovers in three games.
Rookie of the Week
Andy Laurent – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Freshman, Guard, Amityville, NY/Amityville HS
Laurent averaged 18.3 points and 4.7 rebounds as St. Joseph's-L.I. secured the No. 6 seed in this week's Skyline Championship with wins over Yeshiva (67-57), Farmingdale State (69-65) and Purchase (65-61)…shot 6-of-13 from three-point range and 21-of-23 from the foul line…had a game-high 22 points on Feb. 22 against No. 16 Purchase…poured in 20 points on Feb. 19 versus Farmingdale State…tabbed the Skyline Rookie of the Week for the fourth time.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Jazmin Garcia - Purchase
Junior, Center, Peekskill, NY/Peekskill HS
Garcia averaged 30.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists as Purchase secured the No. 2 seed in this week's Skyline Championship with league victories over Mount Saint Mary (71-58) and St. Joseph's-L.I. (77-44) and a non-league win versus Yeshiva (88-44)…shot 37-of-59 on the week and added 14 steals to earn her third Player of the Week citation of the season…poured in a program-best 39 points on 14-of-19 shooting in the Panthers' win over St. Joseph's-L.I. on Feb. 23…notched 29 points and 10 rebounds on Feb. 17 against Yeshiva and 24 points, nine boards and seven assists on Feb. 21 versus Mount Saint Mary.
Rookie of the Week
Brittany Lee – Mount Saint Vincent
Freshman, Guard, Newton, NJ/North Warren Regional HS
Lee averaged 9.5 points and 8.5 rebounds and added a pair of blocks over two games…scored a team-high 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on Feb. 23 in the Dolphins' 69-58 loss at Farmingdale State…named the Skyline Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.
