The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's basketball team falls to Stony Brook, 91-50, in an exhibition match on Friday night.

  • Senior Spencer Malloy led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 10 points, going 5-9 from the field while adding a game-high eight rebounds

  • Sophomore AK Abusaab finished with eight points off the bench, shooting 100% from the field in just five minutes of action

How it happened
  • SJLI's Justin Turner opened the scoring column for the night by hitting a three-pointer right before an Alec Tabada steal led to a Malloy layup to take an early five-point lead

  • As the St. Joseph's held on to an early lead, Stony Brook would see their first lead of the game just a little over the midway point in the first half off an Onyekonwu layup

  • The Seawolves would build upon their lead by going on a 17-6 run in five minutes as the first half was coming to a close 

  • With the second half underway, an early steal and dunk on behalf of SBU would spark a 27-4 run, bringing the score to 68-29 at the 11-minute mark

  • The Golden Eagles ended the scoring drought with a corner three from Thomas Bell, which later saw Dillon Hod cut to the basket for an open layup off the pass from AJ Esposito

  • Stony Brook would see most of their points in the final five minutes of play at the free throw line, securing the victory for the Seawolves
